Free stock FAQ

Moomoo SG Stock Rewards (i.e. free stocks) is a benefit module designated for our users. You may get different free stocks by participating in our stock giveaway events in the moomoo app.

1. How can I get free stocks from Moomoo SG?

Please keep up with the stock giveaway events in the moomoo app. By participating in these events, you can have a chance to get free stocks.

2. Where can I check the free stocks I got?

You can check your free stocks in the moomoo app via "Accounts" > "Stock Rewards". After you claim your free stocks, you will find them in your brokerage account corresponding to the market of these stocks . (To ensure you will find them, please use the latest version of the moomoo app.)

3. How do I claim free stocks?

You can claim free stocks "directly " or "by completing specified tasks".(1) To "directly" claim free stocks, you need to open a brokerage account corresponding to the market of these stocks. (For example, if the free stocks you get are HK stocks, you will need to open a HK brokerage account.)(2) You can also claim free stocks "by completing specified tasks". In this case, you will need to open a corresponding brokerage account before you can complete specified tasks. These tasks vary with events, and appear on the "Stock Rewards" page.

4. When will my free stocks arrive in my account after I claim them?

After you claim your free stocks successfully, Moomoo SG will credit them to your brokerage account within 5 trading days (T+5), and you will be able to trade them once they arrive. Please check your brokerage account for any changes in your position or check the progress via "Stock Rewards"> "Records".

5. Why are there different conditions for claiming and using the same stock?

The conditions for claiming and using a stock may differ depending on the rules for specific events. You need to read the rules for each event carefully to identify the differences in the conditions as well as the validity period.

6. Why couldn't I claim the free stocks even though I have completed the task?

Some tasks involve a deposit, asset maintenance, and frequency of trades. After you complete a task of this kind, it will take 2-5 trading days to settle the stock rewards due to the difference in settlement periods for different markets.

7. What does the validity period mean?

The validity period is the time frame during which you need to complete the task required to meet the conditions for claiming free stocks, have the "Claim" button lit up, and claim the stocks. If you fail to finish the required task within the validity period, or if you completed the task but did not claim the stocks, you will not get the stocks.

8. Why do my free stocks have a cost?

The cost is for the stocks’ market price at the time you claimed them. It is only for your convenience to know your profit and loss on these stocks, and is not a real expense.

9. Why do arrears occur when I sell my free stocks?

In principle, as long as an actual trade is completed, trade-related fees will be charged, regardless of the number or the source of the traded stocks. Arrears may occur if you don't have sufficient funds in your account. For example, if you sell an odd lot for $30, but the commission, stamp duty, and other fees cost $35, you will owe $5 which is subject to interest. For specific rates, please refer to the official fee schedule.
