FAQs on pre-trade allocation

1. About Pre-Trade Allocation

Pre-trade allocation enables institutional clients to place a large-size order and allocate the order quantity to multiple accounts by different allocation methods.

2. Instructions & Calculation Rules

2.1 Access to [Pre-Trade Allocation]

Select [Institution] in the Toolbox of moomoo, and you will see pre-trade allocation on the current order page with an allocation method of [Equal Quantity].

2.2 Supported Products

Currently, pre-trade allocation is available only for HK and US stocks.

Allocation can be done only by [Equal Quantity] method.

2.3 Usage

Enter a total quantity, and it will be allocated equally to each account. You can see the quantity allocated to each account in [Allocation Method] on the right. You can also manually adjust the quantity to be allocated to each account directly in [Allocation Method].

If the buying power/sellable position of an account is not sufficient for this allocation, a prompt will appear, and the allocated quantity will be automatically adjusted to the maximum quantity that the account can cover.

Click Buy or Sell, and then a popup will appear for you to confirm the quantity allocated to each account. For the quantity actually allocated to each account, please refer to the information displayed in the popup.

2.4 [Equal Quantity] Rules

Enter a total quantity, and it will be divided by the number of current accounts, and the quotient will be rounded down to the nearest board lot(s) of the stock. If there is a remainder after the total quantity is divided, the account(s) with higher buying power will be allocated one additional board lot.
